A Surprise Homecoming- NAS Lemoore, CA- Family & Military Photographer

January 10th, 2012

This homecoming story starts all the way back on November 5th, when I participated in a small business open house.  During the course of the open house and networking with different ladies on NAS Lemoore, I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca and her two sweet little girls.  While there, she mentioned that her husband was on IA duty in Afghanistan and was nearing the end of his tour.

As luck would have it, at the end of the open house I held a drawing for a free homecoming session and pulled Rebecca’s name!  I notified Rebecca she won the homecoming session and asked her to let me know when her husband would be returning.  The very next morning, I opened my email and there was a message from Adam (Rebecca’s husband).  He let me know he would be coming home a week earlier than Rebecca expected and requesting my help surprising her and the girls!  My immediate reply was: YES, MOST DEFINITELY YES!

Several weeks passed; on December the 15th Adam emailed me that he had arrived in Kuwait and would be home on the 20th.  We decided that I would contact Rebecca and convince her that I wanted to do a pre-homecoming shoot of her and the girls on December the 20th.  I suggested that the photos would be a good homecoming gift for Adam.  Luckily, Rebecca was pretty easy to convince and things were all set!  From there things went off without a single hitch.  I was able to get a lot of wonderful photos of the girls and Rebecca together before Adam arrived:

The girls and I had a great time playing!  This is the last shot I took right before we heard the phone ringing:

Rebecca and the girls ran into the house to answer the phone and strolling around the corner of the house came Adam:From inside the house I hear the girls say, “Oh NO, we missed Daddy!”  Adam shouted back to them from outside the house;  ”No you didn’t, I’m right here!”  I hear a gasp inside the house and suddenly emerged three VERY happy ladies!

Welcome home Adam!!!  I’m so thrilled you were able to surprise your family and so honored to have helped, even just a little!  I’m hope the four of you had a FANTASTIC Christmas together!

Lora & Rick- Lemoore, CA- Couples Photographer

January 9th, 2012

Lora & Rick are two of my all time favorite clients!  I first met them in the early summer when Rick came home from long deployment onboard the USS Carl Vinson.  I had the amazing pleasure of documenting their reunion and I just fell in love with them!  First off, they are just some of the nicest people you will ever want to meet but, when you couple that with this amazing interaction they have together….Ahh, how could you help but love to be around them??

Rick is currently deployed, yet again.  I know Lora is counting the days to their next homecoming.  I’m excited too, homecomings are so very special and with these two, so very fun!  Rick, have a safe deployment and I look forward to seeing you and your wonderful wife together again very soon!

Goodbye 2011. Hello 2012!- Hanford, Kingsburg & Lemoore, CA- Family & Children Photographer

January 9th, 2012

Boy 2011 ended in a whirlwind for this photographer!!  Today I’ve taken the first look at my poor neglected blog since October!  The last 2.5 months of 2011 were a complete blur of Christmas photo shoots, Christmas cards and every other type of holiday fun imaginable!  It was crazy, exciting, stressful and for me personally, a little sad; since my darling husband left for a deployment just two weeks before Christmas.

I can’t even count how many shoots I’ve neglected to blog over the last few months, it makes my head spin.  Instead of trying to go back and blog them all I’m going to blog my Christmas mini-sessions all in one big blog.  Mini-sessions were something new for me in 2011 and they were so much fun!  I offered two sets of Christmas minis the first was in Kingsburg and I had a full day of one amazing family after another!

Less than a week later I held my second set of Minis.  These were taken on NAS Lemoore and again I had a full day of wonderful families!

My clients seemed to love the mini-sessions and I see many more mini offerings in my future.  In fact, I’m seriously considering a Valentine’s mini-session in the next few weeks!!  Anyone interested???

Hoping your day is full of LOVE, LAUGHTER and beautiful MEMORIES!!

Lilly’s 4th Birthday- Hanford, CA Children Photographer

October 15th, 2011

Lilly turned four back in September and of course, Daddy wasn’t here.  So, we decided to delay her party and celebrate with all our friends and family in October.  Thanks to Pinterest I chose  to make the theme for the party gumball machine/candy.  The kids made their own mini-gumball machines out of small clay pots and votive holders.   There were sugar cookies in the shape of gumball machines and a totally awesome gumball machine cake.  Accompanying these treats was enough gumballs, hard candy, M&M’s, Skittles & suckers to give an entire city block a sugar rush!  YUM!  I of course took a ton of pictures and I’ve only edited a fraction of them but I wanted to share:

Fantastic cake hu?  The cake is the genius creation of the amazing TIffany of Colorful Cake Creations  I found the idea on Pinterest and she nailed it!  It looked so real that there were at least two kids that tried to turn the handle on the cake!  And if  you think it looks cool you should have tasted it…. AH-MAZING I tell ya!  Simply, Amazing!

The super cute sugar cookies were by the wonderful Mystere of Royal Icing Couture. They were adorable as well as super tasty.

By the way, if you don’t know about Pinterest you totally have to check it out.  All the coolest things on the web can be found right there in one place.  If you happen to find something on the web you love and want to be able to find again PIN IT!  Oh and for you app fans, there is an app for that too!  ;)

Happy late birthday to my baby girl and thank you to all our guests today!  We had a fantastic time and hope you all did as well!

Hoping your day is full of LOVE, LAUGHTER and beautiful MEMORIES!!
